Immunocompromised
An immunocompromised individual has an immune system that is not able to function at full capacity. Those who are immunocompromised get sick more often, stay sicker longer and are usually more susceptible to infections. Repeated infections can be the hallmark of an immune disorder.
When we look at the immune system, there are two types of immunity that are complementary to each other. Innate immunity, which is what people are born with. Adaptive immunity is part of the immune system that learns to respond to specific antigens. This can occur through exposure to a certain type of infection or vaccination.
AIDS, chemotherapy, cancer, autoimmune diseases, medications and aging can all be causes of becoming immunocompromised. We address the root of your immune system concerns, which can vary greatly. Once we find the underlying cause through functional lab testing, we are able to create a road map for healing through holistic nutrition and supplementation.
