Food Allergies
Did you know that you could be living with allergies to certain foods and substances and not even know it? There are two food antibodies that our body responds to. IgG antibodies (food sensitivities) are associated with food sensitivities that may occur hours or days after offending food were eaten. This is because IgG food antibodies remain for much longer time than traditional IgE antibodies (food allergies).
Candida can also be a condition which symptoms are often confused with food allergy or sensitivity symptoms. Great Plains Lab is the only lab that tests for Candida albicans (a microscopic fungal organism and pathogenic yeast) as part of IgG food testing. Candida problems are caused when the benign yeast form of Candida albicans mutates to it’s fungal form and produces a buildup of toxins in the body.
It is useful to test for food sensitivities when a person has chronic symptoms, including digestive issues, fatigue, arthritis, anxiety, brain fog, in addition to other lasting problems that don’t improve after doing a standard elimination diet.
If a food sensitivity test shows a reaction to a large number of foods or shows a reaction to yeast, this could be an indication of intestinal permeability (leaky gut). Once discovered, you can take steps to heal and fortify the lining of your gut.
The GPL Food Sensitivity Test helps determine if food reactions are contributing to physical or mental symptoms much faster than simply eliminating and reintroducing foods one by one. Research and clinical studies suggest food allergies identified by IgG testing can be major contributing factors to many chronic health conditions.
